Hello - looking for some insight on wheel fit and clearing calipers on a 25 AT4.

Was about to purchase some 20x9 0 offset wheels and then as I was checking out, the site said I needed spacers to run them. I’m not opposed to spacers in general, but this is going to push the wheels out an extra 10mm (ish), which I really don’t want.

Reason given for this was to clear the calipers. Never ran into this with any vehicle before. Is this the style of the wheel causing this with the spokes? If so is there a measurement I can look at to avoid spacers?

Thanks in advance

I’ve been on several sites where they state that they recommend 3/8 spacers for most every wheel. It may be needed but I’m not so sure. Give them a call to confirm if it’s actually needed or just recommended.

Rim design and specifically how concave the spokes are can have an impact on if there will be interference with the caliper. Obviously the T1XX '21+ gen SUVs have the larger 4 piston front brake calipers, which has required many owners who are using rims meant for the GMT900 and K2XX SUV's to add spacers in order to clear the front brakes.

This is a good website to play around with on wheel and tire fitment. You can plug in your current wheel and tire specs on the left and then plug in the wheel and tire specs you're considering on the right and it will tell you how much closer things are to the suspension, how much farther the tires will poke out of the fender etc.

You might have to go out and measure how close the back of the spokes on your rim now is to your front brake caliper so you have an idea how much space you have to work with. Then based on rim offset get a feel for how much closer or farther away different rims are and go from there.

Thanks. Ordered a plus 18 with what I think is a spoke pattern that will work. Talked to a guy with a custom shop that said 0 will work all day with the right spoke pattern, so think I should be good.

That’s ok. Using 3/8 spacers is very common and even recommended by some shops that sell wheels.

ordered some cheaps from Amazon. Tested 3MM and 5mm. 5’s look better and provide full clearance. Will put me at +13 offset overall. Sent cheaps back and ordered some both hub and wheel centric customs.

Finally got them on. Ended up with 6MM spacers so essentially changed it to +12 offset. Wife loves it, so that’s all that matters.

I ran into a major problem with my brake setup today. My offroad RBP tires are practically bald, so I went to a local America's Tire shop to swap out my 24's for the stock wheels. I've only had them on the vehicle for 3 months, so they sat in my garage until today. I have an 8 pot brake setup from Brembo, so they're not the typical OEM set you'd get from the dealership. Needless to say, the stock wheels don't clear the center bore/hub anymore, so I'm stuck. It's a wonder why I hadn't discovered this sooner after all these years, but it is what it is. This basically means that I'm stuck with my forged wheels indefinitely, or until I return my brakes back to stock. I'm not too upset about it because I still like the aggressive look of my 24x14's, but it's a headache to deal with if I ever have to install another wheel that'll clear the calipers.

Aside from the center bore of the stock rims being a few millimeters smaller up front, I'd also need to go with a 22 inch wheel to clear those calipers. The rear setup is just fine. So now, I'm rolling with the forged wheels up front, and the stock wheels in the back. It looks a little ghetto, but it's only until I can inflate my Atturo Trail Blades - which has a rock hard rubber compound, making it literally impossible to mount, even with a 1/2 inch stretch. With the tires currently off two of the rims, I may take advantage and correct any barrel warping.

Anyone know if the fuel rebels 20” w +20 offset on 285/55r20 ridge grapplers fit on a 25 Yukon at4. Calipers. I know it will in height. Guessing the +20 will push past fenders less than an inch, +1 about an inch ?

It’s hard to know for sure. All comes down to spoke pattern. Worst case you have to run a small spacer.

Fuel Rebels 20x9 with +20 offset easily clear the standard brakes on newer trucks. I’m running a set on my ‘22 Tahoe High Country.

You'll probably find the +20 offset with a 285 will be close to flush but shouldn't protrude.
