What to use to paint chrome bumpers & grill?

I really need to get my bumpers, and grill painted. I was told I could not paint chrome, but read I can if preped correct. I was also told all I need is some self etching primer. I have limited tools as of now, so I need the best way to do this. If possible to even leave bumpers attached to truck is prob the way I would like to go. Im talking about a spray-can job here, any tips will be helpful. I just have to change the contrast right now.

search for it on here, i know searching sucks, but couple guys have just did this. (i didnt save them, but they have what they used and did for the chrome)
From what i remember, all in the preping it. Just sand down the chrome, or chip it off then prime and paint..

I think you should be able to wipe it down real good with some acetone, then prime, then paint.

Like Tahoewhat said, there are plenty of threads on here about that. Probably going to have to rough up the chrome (don't think you will be able to remove it completely unless it's a pro job), throw on some adhesion primer (i've read bulldog is good), primer, paint, clear coat. Some wetsanding in between coats.
