I am guessing this will be seen as a stupid question but it is coming from a dodge guy. We bought a 2014 tahoe LT Z71 and, as you do, stared looking into exhaust and intake options. Not looking for power increases but want to make it sound a little more grunty. My question is, do silverado 1500 cai fit in these tahoes? My gut says yes because the body styles are the same from windshield forward if i'm not mistaken. This is literally my first chevy so this is all new to me. It is a family hauler so power gains are not my focus.

Welcome and you'll probably get better answers if you post in the correct section. This is for the 21+ model year.

This is all you need: https://www.amazon.com/Airaid-AIR-200-996-M-I-T-Modular-Intake/dp/B001S21LJ8

Growls like a mild-moderate performance exhaust but only when you're on the throttle. It's quiet when cruising. I know you're not interested in making power, but you won't LOSE power with this like you would with a hot air intake.

Yeah I saw these intake tunes. Probably more what I am looking for. I won't say no to a power gain here and there, but that just isn't the focus with this one. I saw that the factory air box flows pretty good with a better element in there. That with this mit should make for a good look and like you said a little growl.

The MIT has been shown to give a few horses, but it's likely nothing you'd feel. Where so many go wrong is they buy one of those cheap chrome tubes with a cone filter on the end advertised as a "cold air intake". There is NO cold air in the engine bay, 16" from the exhaust manifold. A heat shield is a gimmick. What you need is a box that is sealed and isolated from the engine bay heat, that ducts in air from outside of the engine bay. You can find exactly this with the stock filter box. The stock duct tube just has the ugly accordion joint and the hard pipe with the resonator chambers (mufflers). The MIT, coupled with a quality filter and a good seal between the filter box and fender will feed your engine air that is 2-3 degrees above ambient at most when idling. I can't say enough about the AEM DryFlow filter: https://www.amazon.com/AEM-28-20129-Dryflow-Air-Filter/dp/B006O87UYQ

I went with the Airaid MIT at the suggestion of Black Bear Performance, and it eliminated all of that ugly tubing and chambers associated with the OEM part.
