its wet on both sides of the block. My fleet mechanic looked at it today, he's a GM guy, and he thinks the pan gasket is where i should start.

I did go to install my rear door speakers. what a pain in the ass that turned into. First the back side part of the door panel where the cable release snaps in, the bottom part just snapped off so hopefully my door cable stays attached. then it turns out water had gotten on the speaker terminals, which caused corrosion and that's what shorted the speaker. and the new one doesnt work because of the corrosion. I had to stop there for the day, so i get to take it back apart, and guess im going to hard wire the speaker in now instead of the quick connector since its junk.
after you put new connectors on there put some kind of protection over them to keep the water from making contact, this can range from some kind of gasket material to hot glue to electrical tape

Here's the actual report from the inspection:

I kinda knew the emission stuff wouldn't pass, since I recently did the rear O2 sensors, and apparently haven't driven enough miles/hours to complete the internal readiness tests. The TPMS is dumb, because my winter wheels/tires don't have the sensors. There should be a way to turn that alarm off in the Tech2, yeah??? And I've had 6qts of fresh synthetic and a new filter waiting for the oil change for a while. I think they just looked at the oil change monitor percentage (that I never reset). It's only been 4500-5000 miles since the last change.

I ordered two AC Delco balljoints from Scamazon (I know... I don't care) because they'll get here Saturday, so I have time to rent the tool and maybe buy a pickle fork.
All but one of the monitors passed their internal tests, so I popped back into the shop to show them the new ball joints, and they hooked up the emissions computer to run the state tests, and it all passed.

I have my new sticker, and saved $1000.

this gen of trucks are notorious for holding water in the doors like a swimming pool because the drains get clogged up, I drilled a couple holes in the bottom of mine, one at each end because my driveway has a slight angle so no matter which way I park the rain can drain out.

I get Dorman updates in my email.
That's cool.

Did you know they list the wrong thread pitch for LS cylinder head manifold studs? Ask me how I know.

They may have updated it, but I emailed them to share my disdain. I ended up using studs for a Mustang, and they threaded in perfectly, just a bit longer than I go for if I had to do it over again.

I believe it. I'm not a Dorman fan. I don't even remember why I subscribed to them lol. They're my go to for little odds and ends, such as small screws or plastic fasteners.

thats the only thing that makes me nervous about it, the brand. so many poor reviews of dorman T's snapping

ALso where were these like 2 or 3 weeks ago when i had to do mine haha. but again, if the OEM lasted as long as they did, kinda want t stick with them

those metal ones have been out for a minute now, i'll be dammed if I ever use one though the oem plastic ones are hard enough to get off if that little plastic clip mutates your going to have one hell off a time getting it off, the plastic ones you can break with pliers
then again maybe it won't ever have to come off

Once I figured out the trick on where to squeeze the clips, I have had very little trouble getting those off.
Before then it was a lot of cussing and beat up fingers.

yeah and the whole push back on the hose and spin it trick to break it free. I did both T's a couple weeks ago and it was a very quick job, a lot easier then i was expecting based off the forum posts haha

new idler pulley shows up today, its been kinda gritty sounding lately and yesterday it was whining, so time to go!
