Looked at it forlornly wishing that I could get it out of my driveway. Then it dawned on me that I wouldn't have anywhere to go if I did.

they are indeed often when this happens they just end up frozen and naked because after hypothermia set's in they just go coocoo and think they are not cold anymore and strip there clothes off

Yep. We had one guy who did that a couple years ago. His wife was found in the car alive but the husband decided to try to walk out. He must have got hypothermia because after a few miles he wandered off the road through the woods and stripped his clothes off. He didn’t make it obviously. And yes they find one or two every year up in the mountains in the summertime when the snow melts. 12-14 feet of snow hides them. There’s a few on the mountain peaks around here too that have never been recovered. It’s nothing like the big peaks around the world though. Everest has 200 bodies left in place, that’s the protocol when they die up there- leave them.

No not usually it just ends back up in the ocean, it usually only floods here when it just rains a lot
all that snow we get doesn't necessarily translate into heavy rain here, when the clouds get pushed into a mountain it forces it to snow/rain but the valley in front of the mountains might not get much of anything. the Geography here is weird big mountains to the east and a small range to the west and I sit in a valley in between so the rain just "skips" here a lot.

I saw a special where they talk about California’s inability to hold the water that comes down in the heavy rains because they purposely designed their systems that way. They said if the water that flows through the LA River were captured and treated it would be more than LA uses altogether. Supposedly theres no water retention other than the Colorado river system which is mostly water from other states. I’m not sure how true that is. We have a lot of reservoirs up here in the NW but we still depend on the snowpack every summer to keep them full. Sometimes it doesn’t but they always fill with the spring rains.

they could build more reservoirs and dams but that might wipe out some little frog or something bunch of pacifist in this state

Yea that was the only picture of my Vehicle I had saved to the computer, that I easily located.

Plain Jane mobile. I like all the nice finishes - fancy wheels and tires ya'll put on yours. I am too cheap for all that fancy stuff ( to me it's just a truck )

Just a truck is the best kind of truck. Some of us have "High Maintenance" trucks. those come with a level of anxiety the "just a truck" doesn't come with... Enjoy!

When I lived in Anchorage, we had a guy thaw out of a snowbank at the end of my street one spring. Got lost walking home from the bar in a blizzard, laid down to rest and froze to death. Snowplow pushed him into the snowbank without even seeing him it was snowing so hard.

TBH, that is why I went with a SSV-I bought my NBS brand new. Took meticulous care of it which limited me from really using it like a truck. It was well worn when it was retired after getting my current 'HOE.....I have added 20" takeoffs from a Silverado but it is a truck and it is used as such. Seriously, your Yukon looks nice and nothing wrong with it as is.

USPS just delivered my Husky WeatherBeater floor mats.

And to think I was disappointed to discover that factory OEM original carpeted replacements were no longer available.

Thanks to everyone here who recommended the Husky brand. They look great and the sharp points on the underside should hold them in place nicely

The radiators used in our trucks are somewhat universal, I think (my theory) is they make the fitting like that so you could use a different sized quick connect and not have to use a whole different radiator. so essentially you could just swap that part in your hand for a different size

That's adapting the OE hard lines to whatever the aftermarket radiator has for the port. You don't have to use that, but then you'd have to change out the stock hard lines to something different that matches the other threads

I basically just trimmed the whole thing flush with the top mounting points and the sides. I don't remember trimming the sides at all. Just the top and bottom flanges got removed.
Was it a perfect fit that sealed up, no. Was it close enough for me. Absolutely.
Fans hardly kick on, but when they do it's still drops the temp and better than before.

So that you can put the factory lines right back in it, or upgrade to fittings of your choice.
I have to assume that's just the easiest way for them to manufacture them, one size fits all.
