Trying to support my mechanic he’s been real good to me and my family so I try to return the favor.
I sometimes have my mechanic do stuff, too, for the exact same reason. Just trying to help put food on his table and knowing he’s a good dude who does good work.

rotors came out nice, he charged me $17 each said the bigger rotors are usually $27 but he gave me a deal, now i just need to order some more of the new copper free pads like I put on the Silverado they work pretty good whatever the new material is they use it bites well.
couple little flea bite chips from turning but nothing bad, they didn't need much there isn't a lip edge so he did them just right

That’s awesome you got those done, and for a great price too. You’re gonna have a damn nice upgrade on the cheap.

if it makes any noticeable difference I will be happy, if these make enough difference I might get the 14" rear upgrade also I can justify spending $650 on brakes instead of $4k :p

But I love spending money...thought you did too judging from all the expensive audio stuff you bought. But yeah we all decide where we want to drop the cash. After 2 sets, I still wouldn’t hesitate to buy Wilwoods again. I have never seen calipers anywhere close to the size as my fronts. Although the ones on my Silvy are more for show since I never drive it too fast... at least I know they’re there if I need them.

You mean you spent all that money on going fast but not on slowing down? Tsk tsk...reminds me of the old saying about climbing mountains. The hard part isn’t the climb, it’s the getting back down without dying.

:anitoof:

nah i wasnt sure if this was going to end up on 4 drag radials (prob 18s) for the longest time, so i never committed to big brake kit. but i dont really like the way they look, theyre on the to do list

Buy them in black so they blend in more.

if I had more play money at my disposal I would I window shop them once in a while I see they sell a lower end set for about $2k, Baer has a couple sets starting at $3200 or so, if I am going to drop a gob of money on this thing it will be a supercharger first. If I run across a decently priced used set-maybe. I bought all the stereo stuff for the Silverado a little at a time and it's just sitting there waiting for me to install it, but I have been working on the 05 instead just had a alarm put it in today so now I have to finish up the stereo install on it and of course we have another freaking heat wave it's about 105 today. Truth is i'm kind of a Scrooge McDuck and I try to get the best bang for my buck, I had to do a bankruptcy about 4 yrs ago and now I have more money and credit than I have ever had but it takes a careful balance of spending versus saving I want that diamond at the top of the mountain but I have to slowly chip away at it to get there. I am not upside down on anything and I want to keep it that way.

 when I picked up the ‘13 he showed me the engine bay and I can vouch it was SPOTLESS!! I told that is probably the cleanest it’ll ever be in my ownership. I’m good about keeping everything else clean but I’m terrible about cleaning my engine bay.

And we keep the heavy duty expensive work for ourselves. Unless things go awry, and we go back to him begging. :)
