This is why Rocket Man doesn’t work on upholstery or upholstery related items lmao. This started out as a simple cleaning of the visor.

I DID clean it with everything under the sun and all that got me was an airbag warning label that had no lettering on it period. So then I had the awesome idea of removing the stupid white patch of vinyl formerly known as a label since it looked stupid. Which actually came off pretty good but left a bit of glue in it’s place. That’s when I used the rocket fuel aka WD40/ denatured alcohol/ scrubbing bubbles/ not sure what else. Damn thing was clean af though. I was feeling pretty good at this point and after hitting it with my heat gun (lightly, there was rocket fuel still on it) it looked damn good. Then I brought it inside and put it on the kitchen table to finish drying. I was feeling pretty darn good. Then after a couple hours, as I walked by it a few times, I noticed the area where the patch of white vinyl formerly known as a warning label had been was beginning to puff up as if to mock me and my cleaning attempts. And I swear it started looking dirty again. So, I began to think about how I could insert some, say, spray adhesive behind there. It looked like the visor was 2 halves snapped together ( no I didn’t fully investigate this idea, I was winging it) so I started trying to separate the 2 halves by first trying to remove the lights and the mirror. The lights came apart ok but as you can see, the mirror did not cooperate. It became the item formerly known as the mirror, cracked to hell. I didn’t care, wasn't quitting. Hell with the mirror, I can fix that later...anyway at this point I noticed the visor wasn’t 2 pieces but did have a groove where the fabric was tucked into on one edge. The other side the fabric was wrapped around. AHA! I could untuck the fabric, tape things off for protection from the spray glue, shoot the glue inside, and smooth the fabric down and then re-tuck the fabric in the crack. That’s when I broke parts of the edge off where the groove was and things started going down hill. Ok, they started going downhill about 5 ideas ago. Whatever. I stopped, went inside, and ordered a new visor off Amazon. It will be here Monday. And I just sold the item formerly known as a visor to Phil aka @CHOO CHOO.

Here are a few of the interior. I have to many to post them all. lol also cleaned on conditioned the leather seats and broke down the center console to scrub it completely clean. the previous owners destroyed the interior. It was nasty but i don't want to post those pics.

I just cut off the stock plugs and crimped on some angled connectors. they work great so far and even though they are on 24/7 the current is very low when not charging so wont drain your battery. I did think of adding a switch to them to be able to turn them off when not in use, but haven't decided if i want to do that yet. I also bought stock power outlets and new covers to replace the dash ones and the one in the back. I don't really think the stock covers would fit over these since the usb ones are slightly bigger and have a threaded aluminum body. I had to open the stock hole slightly to fit these.

Mine are also super dirty. the former owner has makeup and food stains all over them. So I knew going your route I would most likely end up and the same point. So I will just buy new ones soon.

Your kid is standing at the back of the hatch debating whether to tell mom “dad broke his truck” or he’s thinking “mom’s never going to believe I had nothing to do with this” lol. Yeah me too but after the visor incident I will have to consider having a detailer do it lol. I do have an issue facing me though- I will soon have one new grey visor and one still dirty grey visor. Does anyone have a clue what I can use that will clean it without removing the lettering from the label or lifting the fabric? It seems like a ****** design, it’s not like the headliner. Plus it’s a light color that shows stains easily. It looks like a mechanic with greasy hands installed them.

Nice work! I did the same thing with my 02 but decided to just replace the carpet with something a bit better, and also both front seat bottoms. Looks like new still. Yours looks like new as well.

My air vent louvers in the ceiling have black stains on them. I don't know what it's from and it doesn't wipe off easily.

I’m thinking of buying a steam wand but also concerned that I will ruin shit with it. I have 2 headliners that need to be cleaned but I need to study up more on the processes. I’ve watched a few videos and they confuse the hell out of me. One says do this, one says do that, use steam, don’t use steam, etc. I just ordered some Chemical Guys Lightning Fast stain extractor and plan on just blotting it on the other visor and see what happens. The headliners are another story. So much real estate and they’re so fragile.

I have always just used baby wipes or a combination of 409 and baby wipes, doesn't work perfectly but it doesn't damage anything either
