Drove it over 3,000 miles roundtrip to give to Wifey as surprise Christmas present, from San Diego to Wichita, KS and back. Was flawless, ran great, super comfy, love the SiriusXM and Rosen Navi for long trips like this - handled weather and cold like a champ and Wifey loves it.

Did notice with the weight of the Christmas haul and bags in the back, plus Wifey, Daughter and I that the air ride compressor sure ran a lot on start up, especially after gas fill ups - so I'll take a more detailed look at the rear air bags (was not running constantly while on the road, but would run for up to a minute after start).

Really a great comfortable, powerful ride that will pass anything but a gas station (averaged about 18 mpg but that is from sea level to over 6,000 feet and back a couple times each way).

Just got back from installing the new tires: the Michelin Defender LTX M/S.

Let me tell you all right now that the stock OEM tires that come on the Yukon Denali XL (Bridgestone Alenza) are complete garbage. They ride rough, loud, and are hard as rocks.

All I have to say is with the new tires, dayum....such a massive difference in the ride quality. The difference is highly notable. It's quieter, much less droning, almost no harshness, going over open joints or bumps.

Additionally, the wheels were way, way out of balance, which was causing high speed vibration. The road force balance + new tires brought it down to almost nil, and now, you can be going almost 80MPH and not realize it.

dam idk how ive never came across that! how does it sound?
I searched for about 4 days with google trying differnent key words ,etc etc before I found it. I was a day or two away from contacting a few folks for quotes.

It sounds alright. I need to do some tunining to the amp and eq, but not bad at all at the time. Its no more than what I need without having to upgrade the amp and all the door speakers again.

Well, not today, but yesterday we autocrossed the Tahoe:

We were planning to take the Caprice 9C1, but didn't get the coilover install finished in time. Fun to try the truck with the 2/3 drop and new swaybars. We were slow, but still had fun.

4th gear billet servo. I know most say it's a waste but I drive the interstate a lot for work and it makes a big difference on the hills.

looks fun
what track?

the one up here (TMSR) has a rule about no trucks/SUVs. :(

the event peeps wanted me to run, to see how it would do.
so they would only let me on parade laps.
the track owner wasnt available to chat with.

i get the general idea, high center of gravity & all
but if vehicle is lowered & has suspension updates.....

i'll try again this year ;)

It's on the driving course at the Houston Police Academy, so it has a LOT of rubber from HPD Tahoes on it. :)

It was a SCCA event, and the SCCA has rules on high-CG vehicles running at their events. There are lists of banned vehicles, no matter what the level of prep, but also go by a height vs. wheelbase ratio, which a stock-height Tahoe PPV complies with. Ours has an additional 2/3 drop, and is on street tires, so was even more compliant.

New XS POWER D4800 installed. Old autozone battery shows charged on my Norco Genius charger, but not a lot of juice to start. Upon pulling it out, I could hear the water sloshing around. Prob low. Almost 3 years old. D4800 was a OEM drop in. Had the terminals from not using them in my protege with that xs power battery

Changed the tensioner pulley thinking that was the culprit for the squeak that showed up earlier this month, and got very sad and agitated when it was not the fix to my annoying problem. Turns out it's either the smaller belt or pulley for the AC. Guess I'll be changing those tomorrow lol

I know your pain I just changed a bunch of stuff chasing a squeel

Luckily the lower belt and tensioner is easy to change. Just have to pull the cover off.
