you had a code for the brakes getting hot? on a gmt900? I drive the litteral piZZ out of mine and never had a code for hot brakes but I can tell when they get hot, last trip I took they got real hot so I turned on the transmission grade braking by putting tow mode on helped a lot.
Idk all I can say is service traction control abs and brake light came on out of no where have no idea. Cause when I got off at the exit to check stuff everything was fine. Got back on turned off

I carry a little laser thermometer in my tool bag so I can check my trailer bearing hubs whenever I stop to make sure they’re not failing. Might be worth getting one so you can check all of your rotors in case you have a caliper dragging.

well when I first bought it, the next day it caught a rock right in the middle of the passenger side I was pissed but it was able to be filled and it was fine for a while then the top side above the driver cracked in a U-shape and that was fine but kind of a weird crack, but then it started leaking on the passenger side every time it rained or went thru a car wash so I went ahead and had it replaced like maybe 2 years ago, so that was the 1st time and then the day before yesterday it caught a rock again on the passenger side and it made a spider web crack about 4" in diameter so that needed to be replaced so twice now. I just can never seem to a catch a break with windshields the Silverado has had a couple rock hits filled already as well. It's not from me following to close or anything just dumb luck I guess lots of truck traffic on i5 which I have lived within a mile of my entire life basically.

you might have a wheel bearing going out, there are no "sensors" for brake heat on these trucks, the 2021+ have a brake sensor but I think that is for pad thickness only
I have got the brakes so hot before I thought they might catch on fire, billowing smoke. no code or abs or anything, just hot brakes

Current state on theothertwin. It’s been this way since I bought it. Passed inspection 3 times now. Not an issue in Texas as long as the driver’s vision is not obscured.

Rocks usually bounce off those of us who drive under 120mph.

I would hear that wouldn't I. I literally drove 250 in 4 wheel drive the other month. Plus didn't hear anything on the trip.

Should watch the documentary
I just did. Nothing surprising. I hope in the future Amarica can compete in manufacturing but I’m afraid we will have to do it like we have done elsewhere-ingenuity. Our workers will never compete against a culture where they joyfully work 70-80 hours a week, live away from their families including many living in tiny dorms at the factory, take 1-2 days off in a month and are happy with making low wages in exchange. In the meantime everybody keeps saying we need to bring manufacturing back here but this is what we’re up against. We will have to make it all automated in order to keep up. Robots will be the only way, just like they started doing towards the end of that film. Because American workers won’t work that hard, nor should anybody have to. But as of right now, if we make everything here, the working class won’t be able to afford to buy what we make.

More than one lesson to be learned in that whole thing. I thought it was a very good flick. I was intrigued, disgusted, and shocked, all in the same hour.

Lol. I have been in a union, I know all about union busting. It’s a big business in the US. A lot of the young guys I worked with never had a non-union job and didn’t know his good they had it. They were the ones who knew it was almost impossible to get fired as long as they showed up. Some cared about their work, some didn’t. I’m all for unions but imo there needs to be more accountability for the workers.

You should look into the big Chinese and Taiwan manufacturers and how the workers live. Their entire lives are dedicated to the “family” which is the company. The employees only see their actual families a couple times a year. Many live in company dormitories that are similar or worse than our college dorms, only on a mega scale. Think 50,000 workers living on-site. They’re were raised in a different culture than us and don’t expect much. Their jobs and lives are almost military-like.
