Thx @Fless. Do I just mess with the flap inside? Or are they just cheap enough? My ac isn't that great at idle--clutch fan. It actually wasn't that cold today while driving for some reason, it was cool. I just had it charged too.Rear passenger side panel, where all the working stuff is for rear HVAC.
True. Thx, I'll have a look. Not a clue, never had to open mine up. Surely someone here has. Bet there's a bunch of YouTubes on it, though.
I opened mine up, because it had a hole in the side from the damper breaking off, thus leaving a hole. I epoxied the damper back together, but that clamshell is a MFER to get back together correctly in the rig. I purchased a new one, since mine’s been half assed assembled ever since (2.5 years ago), and I’m confident the plastic has bent incorrectly, due to my shotty reassembly job. (And yes, the new clamshell is still sitting pristine in it’s only-opened-to-verify-contents box… [emoji23]Not a clue, never had to open mine up. Surely someone here has. It’s OEM, and was pretty well priced. I think around $100. I do believe I ordered from The jungle site.. lessee….Amazon Sam? OEM or eggfooyung?
Saw this one--It’s OEM, and was pretty well priced. I think around $100. I do believe I ordered from The jungle site.. lessee….
Nope, was not a Jungle site order. It must’ve been one of the halfway decent GM Dealerships, who sell online. Sorry I don’t have the specifics. I’ll have to look at the box. Sheesh T, now I have to go all the way out and look in the shed..!
My bad. I thought you were asking about the clamshell. [emoji23]Saw this one--View attachment 281242
What's that? I know what a clam isMy bad. I thought you were asking about the clamshell. [emoji23]
the up/down actuator is the one at the Y in the air housing when you remove the cover there are 2 actuators, the one closest to the blower motor is hot/cold, then up forward at the Y you will see the pipe go up towards the roof and down towards the floor that is where the second one is located. What's that? I know what a clam is![]()
Thx Wes. It's been hell hot here--low to mid 90's, so it's too damn hot for me to even mess with anything. Supposed to cool down later in the week, so hopefully I'll be able to look then.the up/down actuator is the one at the Y in the air housing when you remove the cover there are 2 actuators, the one closest to the blower motor is hot/cold, then up forward at the Y you will see the pipe go up towards the roof and down towards the floor that is where the second one is located.
Does anyone know where the actuator is for the roof vents? I tried resetting the hvac using the tech2, still blowing out warm/hot air.
I need to revisit mine. I think I replaced the blend door actuator back there a couple years ago but now the mode one is acting up. Whichever the one is that controls if it’s on heat or ac..that’s what’s acting up now so I just leave it turned off.i changed that actuator, its under the plastic pass side rear. i did that module first and it did nothing. actuator was the fix. and i got to say, working rear ac helps cool the truck down a lot faster.
if it is blowing out warm air then you want to check the actuator closest to the blower motor, all the other actuator does is send it up or down or in the middle, doesn't control temp.Does anyone know where the actuator is for the roof vents? I think this is the 2nd or 3rd year mine has been blowing hot air, I've just left it off. I finally decided to mess with it. If it won't work I'll just keep it off lol. That’s the one I need.
You can always remove the actuator and turn it by hand and then when winter starts flip it back.I think this is the 2nd or 3rd year mine has been blowing hot air, I've just left it off. I finally decided to mess with it. If it won't work I'll just keep it off lol.
I was thinking that, but just leave it in that position permanently. You can always remove the actuator and turn it by hand and then when winter starts flip it back.![]()
