Think so? I guess we'll see. I might get a shift kit in it! My 01 actually leaps shifting gears when I'm on it, which is always!
Nothing wrong with making the work truck(van) a little better. After all it's what pays the bills. Even though it's a work van post some pics !

A buddy of mine almost got a8.1 4l80 work van. Something happened with the deal and it fell through. Unfortunately that would have made a good donar vehicle!

Hah. Im dealing with this tomorrow. Do you have a scan tool that can read advanced codes? Mine says passenger side front impact sensor is bad.

There are 4 sensors so guessing at them could get expensive at $65 a pop.

Replacing mine tomorrow. Should be simple...
Nah, I just have a basic code reader, but I just dropped off the hoe, so he's supposed to scan it for me. Did you know that light could also mean a bad seat belt?

It's a nice van, compared to my other one. I gotta find out what the rear gear ratio is. There's a few things I need to do still. I smell antifreeze now but it's raining now, so I can't check it out yet.

Color match mirrors and bumpers. Oh yeah, 26's fo sho.
Funny, it has the same 4.8 my Tahoe had before my swap, LS motor. Except it's a dbc. I do have an extra set of 22's, but they're 6 lug! LolOTE="TheAutumnWind, post: 1141755, member: 38480"]$100 code reader can show you advanced codes. Pays for itself with one repair..[/QUOTE]
What would you recommend?

I don't think it looks bad. How'd the debris look on the rag once you cleaned it off? Looks normal to me--from the pic.
Didn't seem too bad only some clumps in pan but I think the seafoam did that

Forgot (I think) did I mention I dropped the hoe off today for the Tb swap. I also asked him to turn on the electric fans through the pcm, but he keeps making it sound like it's a huge ordeal. I guess we'll see.

Power windows and locks also !!! And over all it looks like it's in fantastic shape !
Thx. It seems to be. Runs great, and such a huge difference then my 01. My 01 is a freakin champ tho! I drive that thing like it's an undercover vette! Lol
I love how it actually leaps when it shifts gears. I'm def gonna miss that, but the new one has the 4l80e. Think that has the beefier internals, right?

IMO I would think over all it's beafier just cause it the 80 ! I am sure you will have no worries! After the taho is sorted out look into a time and vett servo. Then the normal maintenance.

Believe me, I've already thought about it. I'm def gonna get a shift kit for it, which actually prolongs the trans life. I'm rough on those trannies! Lol
