Painted the grill emblem white and then cut off the bow tie from an extra Tahoe door emblem I had. Fits perfect. I vote yes. What do you think? I may end up painting the bow tie black since the grill is getting painted white. Not sure yet

This year I’m celebrating 20 years of ownership. I bought it 1/31/2006. I’m doing an aesthetic refresh of the truck.

Week before last, I dropped it off at a paintless dent repair shop and they did a great job.

Yesterday I picked it up from a local paint and body shop where I had the hood repainted. It looks amazing!

Today I installed new OEM rear appliqués to replace the faded and worn originals. I also installed new front and rear Dorman wiper arms to replace the originals.

In 60-90 days once the hood paint is fully cured, the final step will be having a detail shop remove the side trim moldings, polish the truck, and ceramic coat everything except the hood which will get PPF applied.

5 years after installing poly body mount bushings (https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/body-mount-bushings.129520/ ) I finally got tired of the super rough ride and body noise (popping, etc). Bought a set of S&B body mounts and installed them this afternoon.

Call it a placebo effect but the tahoe rides significantly smoother and quieter now, with less road feel.

To answer “is it worth the $750?” … I say yes.

Nice! I love doing stuff like that and having it feel like brand new again. And sounds like you're going all out on that thing. Keep us posted with pics

A bit more finish sanding and will be ready for paint this weekend. Still not sure if I should paint the bow tie black or keep it white

While not as drastic as body mounts, I ran a poly trans mount for about the same time. Went back to a new OEM and the whole experience felt better, smoother, and quieter as you observed.

Installed a truetrac in my escalade. This job turned into a bit of a headache for various reasons, but i was able to get it resolved.

I have built probably a 1000 diffs over the years and NEVER had this happen. I was able to get it out super easy, but it still is a kick in the nuts. I was doing my final torque pass and on the last bolt i was thinking, man this bolt feels weird, then snap.

come to find out it looks like my torque wrench went bad and i was significantly over torquing the bolts.

Got new bolts and got that part resolved. I was able to get my backlash to .0045" and tossed it all back together before running out of daylight. Still need to toss the brakes on and button up the cover. But the hard part is done at this point.
