I went to the $50 amp on my 03. Iirc I needed a different belt, as the pulley on the 160 was bigger. I'm sure if you swap the alternator pulleys you should be fine---I just remembered that the 160 was bolted on and I was able to use the existing belt, which was older so it might've stretched out. When I eventually bought a new belt, I replaced with the exact belt that was on there, and it wouldn't fit. I had to go 1 or 2 sizes different. Just keep that in mind. Just my experience.
Nice!! Good job T! Hope it wasn’t too bad..? Have you taken her for any spirited drives since….? You already got the rear in I believe..?Forgot--installed my front Hellwig today.View attachment 304746
Stupid auto correct!!! Supposed to say 160 amp alternator. What $50 amp was that?
No rides yet. I'm hoping it was worth it tho. I only had to cut 1 bolt too lol.Nice!! Good job T! Hope it wasn’t too bad..? Have you taken her for any spirited drives since….? You already got the rear in I believe..?
Yeah, agree. And I’m okay with that, but definitely do want a real AC Delco, and hopefully not a “professional”.. 160A (or more) would be great if an option @915_Tahoe ..
Happened to my '98 Blazer almost the exact same way. Don't suppose you were trying to climb a mountain in eastern Oregon like I was though They were Moog brackets I believe..Anybody ever see sway bar brackets break like this? It's on a 2007 Savanah 2500, short wheelbase, AC service van.
no but looks like they were not the original? some cheap aftermarket? is the bar on upside down? anything else not stock? something damaged or not stock height? vehicle accident?Anybody ever see sway bar brackets break like this? It's on a 2007 Savanah 2500, short wheelbase, AC service van.
Bone stock with nearly 200k but this is the third or 4th time it's happened according to the owner. Bar doesn't appear to be upside down the original endlinks look proper and are actually in great shape even. This set was after market from some parts store they said, they will be replaced tomorrow with my original Tahoe brackets since I upgraded to the Hellwigs and have a set of steel ones on the shelf.no but looks like they were not the original? some cheap aftermarket? is the bar on upside down? anything else not stock? something damaged or not stock height? vehicle accident?
Didn't look for a manufacture name or # on it yet. Also I don't think it's ever left Florida and we don't have mountians hahaHappened to my '98 Blazer almost the exact same way. Don't suppose you were trying to climb a mountain in eastern Oregon like I was though They were Moog brackets I believe..

Technically, you're correct. But, here are some Florida mountains:

All the others I found were NSFTYF
Maybe its just the angle but the bushings look bad. Probably some cheapo brackets and rust and slack in the bushings allowed the bar to move around too much.Anybody ever see sway bar brackets break like this? It's on a 2007 Savanah 2500, short wheelbase, AC service van.
No worries man, you’re always a huge help to many of us. When you have a minute, I’d like your thoughts on either a 145A factory / reman alternator, or a 160A. I’ll have to figure out the belt length as well if I go with the 160A I guess, which sucks, since my Gates micro-v fleet green belt just arrived yesterday. Lol.Sorry for the delay guys, I really do apologize. It's been crazy at work, and I was sent with several guys from work to pick up new vehicles from the train yard. Hard to get transports to bring us the vehicles. So we have been going for them our selfs.

@Sam Harris You could try this one. I'm not sure if you have pwr fold or not.So I’ve replaced both mirrors on the Yukon at one time or another. The driver side was shot when I bought it. Now, the passenger side has several LEDs out, and I’m looking for a better replacement. Looking on RA, they have quite a variety, but the ones that would be correct are $150-200, and still not OEM. Does anyone have suggestions, or a part number..? I’m guessing the OEM is no longer made / available. It has heat, turn indicator, and auto-darkening.
ETA:
ok, so OEM is available, for $300+… I don’t think I want to spend that on a damn side mirror, but I do want all the original features. Most aftermarket ones are not auto-darkening.
So I’ll edit my request.. lol. Looks like the OEM part is: 88944392, which has heat, turn indicator and auto-darkening.
Does anyone have a decent aftermarket replacement that has these features, and you’re happy with it? I replaced this one probably about 18 months ago, maybe less, and the LEDs are already going out
