Funny, though, my radio has this feature and I never knew it was there, much less knew how to use it. Would having this indicate that it's NOT the LUX system in mine?

Well, no Tahoes or Suburbans got the LUX system from the factory. This was an Escalade/Denali only option (and some H2s IIRC). However, this radio could be used in a LUX configuration. It's the same hardware with different software loaded into the radio. As for how the AUTO VOL button works on a LUX system, I'm not sure. I am planning to load the LUX software into my UC6 radio so I can use it if I want to swap it with the Nav unit, but I haven't done it yet. I am assuming there will be some difference since the non-LUX auto volume uses the VSS to adjust it and the LUX uses a microphone.

I'm not sure how well the LUX auto volume works yet, as I don't think the amp I got off ebay is working quite right. There is a test function in the Tech2 for the noise compensation microphone, aka auto volume, on the LUX amp. When I tried to test it, the Tech2 said it failed the test. When I turn the auto volume on and off in the radio menu, it gets louder with it on and quieter with it off, but doesn't seem to change when I am driving.

Do you know the power of the Premium amp? It's output.
Any difference if the Premium is replaced with the Bose?

I've read in one of the forums that someone figured out that the premium amp was about 20 watts per channel and that the LUX amp is about 50 watts per channel. THD supposedly is also better on the LUX. Not sure of the accuracy, just repeating what I've read.

I love those wheels....... But they are Chevrolet..... Would I be breaking the rules if I get a set for my Yukon?
Get some stickers to put over that say GMC! Man that grill and the color match really set that truck off.

2004 Z71 Suburban Green I have a few upgrades done.

Thanks. Looks like I'll be checking the install of the Pioneer. It's rated at 50W x 4 Sub woofer is 70W
If the factory amp is bypassed I'll yank it out.
