So I have played with Plastidip on several other applications and this stuff is absolutely AMAZING. Recently they introduced a new Plastidip Pearlizer so of course I had to give it a try and I must say, I AM IN LOVE!!!! Barely played around with it a little bit this evening and I must say for a universal generic pearl spray it matched the stock WDT pretty well. The following is base coat normal matte white Plastidip, 3 full coats Plastidip Pearlizer and Normal Rustoleum Automotive Clear Coat (not even wetsanded yet, will do so tomorrow once fully cured). Here are some pics...I did the full Plastdip job on the hood trim molding, the emblems are merely 1 coat of white with the Pearlizer sprayed while it was still wet, so you can see it slightly lighter and thin on the edges....overall I am IMPRESSED, now I can save big $$$ paint matching out all my trim!!!!

If you clear coat plasti dip it's a complete ***** to get off plus I read that plasti dip takes about four days to cure fully! Just leave it as is you'll make it worse on your self.

I think it looks real good. I probably would have opted to go with real paint though because I am not sure about the long term durability (4-5 years) of plasti-dip on the front end of a car.

Luckily I've never owned a vehicle longer than 2 years so the $40 to perfectly paint match out my trim will do for me :winner_third_h4h: ...seriously though I cannot believe how perfect it matches, I had high hopes for this project and it most definitely exceeded my expectations

So I got a chance to tackle the side fender vents, what a PITA to get these off without breaking or scratching anything!!!! I first did them all painted like the newer Premium style vents but ended up peeling back the plastidip on the main chrome slat and actually really like it as it keeps the lines with the body and upper roof rack and side step chrome lines. I'll post some better pics and full side shots tomorrow sometime...

was finally able to snap a few pics with the vents on, kind of sucks about the night shots but you get the picture. I love the way it looks, now just to get rid of those fixed running boards and wait for my Plastidip order to finish the door moldings and rear applique....
