Anyone try the pre-cut vinyl wrap for the chrome window trim?

Never vinyl wrapped anything before but thinking it seems pretty basic/easy. Any pro tips on doing this?

Thanks

i plan to order a strip of tape, slightly wider than the trim itself, then use a razor style knife like window tinters use

Ended up getting pre-cuts for the window trim.. if it goes well I'd like to try the same on other things like the fog surrounds, luggage rails, and doors trim.

i am about to get mine done soon, fingers crossed.

i was told not to use the chrome or black chrome options for small pieces as they are too stiff.
this will lead to them peeling up on corners & edges.

i originally wanted the black chrome one :(

so i'll pick something else color wise for the chrome delete that i am planning on (as i dont want flat or gloss black)

I was sent the standard instead of XL when I bought the eBay BO kit. Ended up costing $7.95 after the exchange processed. I have a standard gloss black for sale if anyone wants it.

Stormin08 - Let us know if you go with the Avery and how it turns out. Waiting for warmer weather before trying to install my $7.95 eBay special

I've got a pre-cut kit showing up the next few days. I'll post a before and after.
First piece I tried didn't fit. Alignment was poor and there was overhang I would have had to cut off. Tried going around the back of the piece with a card and it cut the vinyl. Waiting on a response back from the seller.

i would prefer it to be slightly larger rather than exact...

that said, i i did the quick trial with black electrical tape, not sure i want to wrap mine. usually i am all in for the simple black trim and monochromatic paint...but the chrome has grown on me as it keeps the grille looking correct, i may go with a black and machine wheel instead of our factory all black wheel.

I got the precut pieces because I have the touch of an elephant and know better than to use a sharp instrument near paint. They asked me to send it all back and I'll be getting a refund. Probably just have to get somewhere in town to do it.

I went with the roll and sheet stuff for areas wider than 2in. Use a plastic razor blade. Ask me how I know.

Nice. Clean AF.

Now that I've tinted my windows the chrome trim is bothering me even more.

Thanks. It’s pretty easy. You will learn as you go and might want to redo some like I did, but it’s all pretty easy and cheap.
Did you order normal vinyl and cut it yourself or a precut kit?
I would definitely like to try myself before paying some shop to do it. Got a quote of $250-400 from a local vinyl shop and said no way..

I got quoted 1800 to wrap everything on mine. Lololol. I bought a 2” wide roll of 3m vinyl on amazon or eBay. And a sheet of 1ft x 5ft (or something like that) for areas that would have been too wide. I couldn’t have paid over 50 for everything. I watched a few YouTube videos and just gave it a shot. I said it earlier but I can’t stress enough about using a plastic razor blade.

Appreciate the info! I just ordered a roll off eBay so I can give it a shot myself!
Definitely going to use a plastic razor blade.
