Bought a Gates 22209 from RA and the fit is probably not for my truck it's so far off.

Just bought a Dayco 71881 from Pep Boys so I could see it first, (RA sells it too), and the fit is perfect.

FYI

if you notice the dayco has a long hose sleeve and the gates only has a short hose sleeve. the gates fits but it supposed to be a little shorter so when you put it on it pulls it farther away from the fan shroud. that sleeve works ok but its not an indefinite fix to stop something from rubbing through.

The Gates one would have gone on, but would have been pulled across the gap. It has a 45, where the dayco has a 90 bend.

Two sizes are listed for your year.
They sure are...

PS.
I don't have a 40" Rad

When they are shorter to install and pull away from the fan shroud, you also have to be aware that the radiator neck will have more tension on it from that shorter hose. Can it damage the radiator neck? Only time will tell. Usually I would either reuse that factory zip tie like holder that is at the top of the fan shroud or if has no hole for that and no tie off, I would create one.
