Trying to sell my 2003 Denali, not easy.

I have 200,000 miles on my 03. Beautiful pictures on CL. Not one person is interested at $5000. It needs very minor work. Only the A/C and O2 sensor. Everything else works perfect. I though it would be an easy sell.

Next week, it's going to car cash for $2500.

Fix the issues and you'll do better. Selling a car with known issues is never easy. I flip a lot of cars and always do better spending the extra money fixing small things.

Ya fix the AC and 02 sensor... The way I think is if the owner won't fix the AC and 02 then what else hasn't he kept up to date on. Makes me not interested at all in the vehicle

I think the problem is the 200,000 miles. That's a number that scares off most people that don't know these can run for a lot longer. People look for lower mileage ones even though they're rarer.

I just sold my 06 Silverado crew cab with 204k miles and only issue it had was the windshield has a couple chips and a small crack on the lower drivers corner of windshield. Didn't get anywhere close to what it's worth almost half retail, barely got rough trade value. Ended up selling for $8k after 3 months of it being posted on Craigslist and on Facebook in the local and statewide groups. The economy is the problem right now. Everyone is scared to spend money right now.

Higher miles matter less on older cars for sale price. A newer car with higher miles is always harder to sell at retail than an older with higher miles.

The atrocious fuel milage is probably more at play for the tough sell. Fuel mileage is very importantto buyers now even though gas is still relatively inexpensive.

In all honesty, the A/C needing work would turn me away. It could be a cheap/easy part, or could end up needing everything new.

I spent a few months looking for the right one. Known issues not being fixed are a huge red flag for most if you're priced in the middle of the market. Most people will immediately skip over it. I always assume that if it was as easy/cheap as the previous owner said it was to fix then why the didn't they fix it?

Buying a car with problems is risky and people don't start off trusting what you say word for word. You're better off taking care of the A/C and 02 sensors and then posting it.

The A/C... if I recharge it, it'll last 3 months. The evap core has a small leak, and I'm not ripping out the dash to fix it. The O2 sensor is probably $20. and the front hub is probably $110 plus labor. To dump $500 into a $2500 vehicle, doesn't make sense.

It really needs tires too, and probably brakes. By the time I'm done, I can dump $1500 into it, and it's still worth $2500. I won't even spend the money on ebay. Not worth it. 200,000 miles, there is a limited market. Although I drove it today with the windows open. Runs fine. The 6.0L motor is amazing.

Fwiw the whole dash doesn't "have" to come out. Just about half the interior does. Haha.

I see pricing all over for high mileage trucks. I've been watching ebay, and craigslist. One I saw go for $7000 on ebay, and it sold.

If the vehicle is a $2,500 vehicle, price it that way. I guarantee with the $500 you put into it, you'll be able to sell it for $3k cash. I bought mine for around that 15 minutes after he posted it. The guy selling it probably got 10 calls asking to buy it while I was talking to him with cash in hand. Luckily I was there first.
