You just reminded me to get on that project of building a bracket on the top of the transmission jack. LOL I'm always in the same boat ... I'll get to it next time because I want to get this vehicle done!

I didn't think of this before but it would be interesting to try some non-slip tape on the jack plate. That may be sufficient to prevent sliding.

When pulling the transmission to do a rear main cover and seal, the sheet of plywood worked well to prevent sliding and protect the pan. Plenty of room under there to roll the transmission back and do the job. But when swapping transmissions, even with my large jack stands, every half inch counts if you want to be able to roll it out from underneath without taking it off the transmission jack. In that scenario I think the non-slip tape would be ideal.
