I learned in Physics class long ago that anything will burn if the conditions are right.

Take a high pressure line with a pinhole leak that aerosolizes transmission fluid and it will be very flammable, if it sprays on a hot exhaust manifold, it could ignite. It is possible, but also very unlikely.
Okay do I've made it through 17

Hooray!
What a year @Tonyrodz.

Reading about the atf saga, I had a mate with with a twin tunnel rammed 454 running 396 carters and a th400 trans in an HZ Holden sedan.

Saw a video(1980s) of him doing a burnout and blew a trans line. Fire balled from the blowout point right out the back of the car!

Big flame out so I go yes with flammable and right scenario!

Looked awesome! Think it turned out later he had cracked the trans through too much torque!
It was like a massive lazy idle when he was burning rubber. Each squeeze on the pedal was swinging the car 180-360°

Mate that owned it was a nutcase!![emoji2957][emoji463]

Time for a little suspension work. I've been wanting to drop it for awhile. By this time tho I've spent a ton of $$ on the swap. So I'm trying to go a little cheap. I'm looking to do a 2/3 drop. Nothing crazy. Find a reasonably priced kit from crown suspension. Comes with 2" keys, rear lowering springs and shock extenders. View attachment 80060 View attachment 80061 View attachment 80062

No more of that huge wheel well gap.
Rear is 33" from ground to wheel well.
Front is now 32 1/2". I had to crank it up 1/2" the jounce stops were squashed.
Hey @Tonyrodz had a question for you?So I'm about to order the same crown suspension that you have, but before I do are you still running the same kit how is it holding up. And would you know if i were to go with the 2" spindles would they work with stock 16" wheels or would i have to get 17's to clear.

I'm still running the same setup with no issues. I'm not really sure about using spindles. I've read some guys have to trim their lower balljoints when swapping over, but other guys have had no issues. I think it might depend on who makes the spindle. Iirc--it's been a few yrs--I didn't have any issue with my stock 16's. I soon swapped to 17's because I went to the NNBS front brake setup. You need 17's for those. Sorry I wasn't more helpful.

That helps a little, I guess. Lol
No but for reals thanks for the info, also did you do the free travel mod is it necessary for this drop kit or no.

I def didn't do the free travel mod. I don't really bottom out in the rear unless I hit a huge dip or big ass pothole--at speed. Only real concern--for me--was/is those front jounce stops. They're resting on the lca, but they really shouldn't be, other then that, no issues. Imo you can't beat this kit for the $$.

Ok, great. I found the Crown with the 2" keys, 3"springs with the shock extenders.

I've had it since 1996. Got rid of my GMC Typhoon for it. Had around 43-44,000 miles on it. I gave it to my son about a year ago--had 48k on it. I've had it since my son was around 5, he'll be 30 next month. Time sure does fly by :(
