Well, yesterday I tackled the tinting of my tail lights. I've been putting it off for a month now. I've had everything at the house, but to busy (or lazy) to do it...
I used:
2000 Grit Wet Sand Paper
Gravity Feed Paint Gun
High Speed Buffer
Polish
Wax
Clear Coat
Black Paint
- First I took off the lights and wet sanded them, keeping the sand paper wet. After about 1 full minute, I stopped and checked the lights. When a white haze/fog appears, your done.
- Dried off really well
- Mixed 75% clear with 25% black paint and sprayed 2 coats, waiting about 20 minutes between each coat
- Let sit overnight (about 16 hours)
- Wet sanded using the same method as above
- Dried off really well
- Used the buffer and polish to smooth out any ruff paint
- Applied 2 coats of wax to the lights with the buffer
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics...
