Deciding to replace the leaking front oil seal on my 97 Tahoe with 207K miles. While i'm in that deep i'm also replacing the water pump and timing set. Cloyes has 2 choices for the 1997 5.7 engine with R in the VIN (like mine) Cloyes C-3017 and Cloyes C-3092.
From Cloyes website both are stock replacements:
C-3017 Fitment: VIN R, Includes: Camshaft Sprocket, Crankshaft Sprocket, Chain, L31 Engine, .40 In./.41 In. Tooth Width, For Engines With Inverted Tooth (IT) Chain, Keyway Adjustable: No
C-3092 Fitment: VIN R, Includes: Camshaft Sprocket, Crankshaft Sprocket, Chain, .275 In./.285 In. Tooth Width, L31 Engine, For Engines With Roller Chain, Keyway Adjustable: No
Is it simply my choice of which set to use??
Thanks
