Time period for oil change

Hi how often oil should be change if only drive 2000 miles a year

Wow that's not much. Is say once a year. At most twice a year.

3 months or 3000 miles is the old recomendation wich ever comes first
id say 2 to 3 times a year you can be your own judge when you check your oil and it still looks new

My truck usually tells me to change my oil around 3500 miles so if you are only doing 2000 then I'd say you are good for a year or so!

3000 miles for conventional or synthetic blend or high mileage. 5000 miles for Full synthetic or dexos

just use your best judgement just get in a habit of checkin your oil 2 or 3 times a month
and once its starts turning dark change it
if you dont know post a picture of the dipstick one of us will tell you

if you can briefly hear your lifters tapping for a second or two when you start it up is a indicator to change your oil

When the "Change oil light" comes on. Use a full synthetic and a good oil filter. The engine will out live the Tahoe.
