Just got my new wheels yes KMC slides...I know...but I like em.
So when I went to put em on I noticed that there is an extra set of lug holes next to the ones I'm using. Presumably these are so the rims fit as many types of vehicles as possible.
Removing all this extra metal has to weaken the wheel.
Has anyone had any problems with wheel strength?
I enclosed a pic so ya can see what I am talking about.

They have been doing this for many years and I have not ever heard of a problem.

Many wheels have a "Universal lug" pattern so that, like you mentioned, they will fit a few different bolt patterns without having to produce a completely different wheel. KMC is a well known brand and I'm sure goes through rigorous testing prior to production. You should have no structural issues with the Slides.
