No I'm saying the lasting effects of inflation are lingering because corporate greed.

The underlying causes of high prices are not there. But the prices are still high. People are paying the high prices and profits are soaring.

If we were not allowing this price gouging to happen things would be a lot better.

So if the Fed is targeting anything over 0%, you can always expect that energy prices will increase regardless of political party. That's the definition of inflation.

Some headline today might read "Oil is about to be more than $100/barrel." A decade later, some other headline will say "Oil is about to be more than $125/barrel". It's really just noise because it's just inflation.

The Fed Reserve chart is comparing the cost of a barrel of WTI vs. CPI through 3 different administrations. As far as sustained decreases, it's interesting there was a huge drop in 2014 during the Obama administration.
