Strap with hook in the glove box, what is this for?

This is on a 2021 Tahoe. There is a nylon strap with a spring loaded hook on one end in my glove box. Anyone know what this is for?? Could not find anything with a search here or in the manual.

Why would anyone would transport a child in the glove box? Maybe it's the safe space to protect them from the shrapnel of an exploding air bag module.

Thanks, it does look like that kind of strap. I looked quick in that section of the manual but did not see it pictured or mentioned though. Oh well, ours seem safely secured as is.

It's to hold the windshield down. Or was that my CJ7 ??

Good find. Seems sort of silly. I can't imagine a full size rim and tire sliding around.

There it is! Not something I would likely bother using it for but it might come in handy for strapping something else down back there. Nice find.
