I know that swapping out the stock Tahoe roof rails with the Escalade roof rails is a very popular modification, but I'm having second thoughts on doing this one. Thanks to GM and its inability to produce parts efficiently, I have the left-side Escalade roof rail at my house, but not the right-side roof rail. After eyeballing every Tahoe and Escalade around town as I drive, I'm beginning to think the Escalade roof rail is just too flashy for my tastes. I'm stuck on the fence on this one, and everyone knows where the fence post is when you're straddling the fence, so I need to get off the fence quick. :Big Laugh:

I'm keeping this poll simple, but those that want to add their comments can type away.

Yeah it definitely is flashy. I would personally only get it if I wanted that extra chrome look, or maybe if I had chrome wheels. But since I have a all black Tahoe I am not dishing out $400+ for it!

if you have other chrome accents on the truck, yes, otherwise, no.

I'll go so far as to say that you ought to have Esky/Denali chrome-accented running boards (assuming you already have chrome door moldings) with the roof rack, as the truck tends to look "chrome top-heavy" without them.

I had the Esky racks on my truck with just the standard running boards, and it didn't look right to me. I ditched the racks until I decided to get the chrome running boards. Once they were on the truck, the Esky rack looked correct to me. So, that's how my truck is now.

I've gone for the chrome look, obviously.

I think no rack looks best. Wish mine never had it to begin with, because after you remove it you have to fill 20 or so little holes.

10, actually... But, yeah, there's some work to be done if you want the roof to look right after removing the rack (I'm not a fan of leaving the bolts sticking up out of the nutserts, that's for sure).

I like the look of a blacked out Esky rack but not spending several hundred dollars just to black it out.

I don't know bro, I think with your door handles, door moldings, mirror covers and of course the wheels you had enough chrome for the esky rack to blend in with the standard running boards. I hope to find a set on the cheap at a wrecking yard next year.

I hear you, and that's what I thought -- but with the rack on there along with the standard running boards, your (well, MY) eye just went right up the truck to the chrome rack, which made the truck look out-of-balance to me. The chrome on the running boards really tied things together for me.

I don't expect others' eyes/minds to work like mine, but... What can I say? haha

You missed the vot on no rack. That's the best look IMO.

I won't argue with that at all. But it's just not worth the effort to me to undo the ten-hole mess General Motors bestowed on the Tahoe's roof. :emotions122:

As of December 14, 2011, the dumb-asses at General Motors still show the right-side Escalade roof rail on national backorder. That's been the case for at least 3.5 months. Wonder what General Motor's problem is?????????????????

ESCALADE Roof Rack on NBS Yukon

The chrome roof rack is a very nice touch to the tahoe, my friend.

I just added mine on Monday this week, and I love the look with the rest of the chrome on my rig.

Ok....I officially have a 3 sets of roof racks from 07-up escalade and one roof rail set from the 07-up ESV. Let me know if anybody needs it.

Out of topic - I have 2 sets of retractable steps from 07-up escalade. Black and white. Let me know.
