Split Beam Torque Wrenches

Any opinions on ICON vs Tecton 3/8" split beam torque wrenches for occasional use on personal vehicles?
I have a different 1/2" version but the 3/8" are in the load range and space constraints I am trying to fill.

Except for some iffy quality on the ratchet wrench ratcheting mechanisms, I have heard nothing but good about ICON.

I bought the split beam 3/8" Icon last year. It's very nice. I was using the cheap HF 3/8" version before. I bought it because you don't have to "unwind it" after using it like the micrometer style.

I only wish it went down lower on tbe settings. When assembling LS engines for example, a lot of the bolts get torqued to 15 ft-lb on the first pass. I think i used it once on the lowest setting and couldn't really hear or feel the clicking. I think that's common issue for these though? IDK

I would still recommend it. For $100, it's a great value.

Make sure about the accuracy claims! Most mfg state accuracy at up to 80 percent of scale. Some divide the low side also such as 10-80 percent of scale.
A special order is usually required if you wish calibrated or 2 percent accuracy torque wrenches.

Got the ICON and used it quite a bit lately. The compact head us very handy.
