i got 2 blown speakers. the one on the passanger door and one of the ones in the roof in the trunk area. im thinking about replacing all the speakers at one time. i hate to give up these factory speakers b/c they sound great except for now. im stuck between alpine and infinity speakers. another thing, what are ALL of the size speakers i need. bestbuy.com only gives me the 6 1/2 speaker. what about the tiny ones in the front and passanger door and the ones in the roof in the back.

the 4x10's are garbage. i wish i had pics of the 6x9 pods too. done just about any size speaker so far... as you can tell by the dual 6.5s. the dual 6.5's with the infinities scream. and theyre clean. I love infinity.

you can get a 6x9 in the factory spot with a grinder (so i've heard), but I wasnt about to do it.

I have Alpine in the front and Memphis Audio in the rear. They sound pretty good. I love the Alpines, they hit pretty good. They don't offer much for the 4x10, but I do like the Memphis',

hmm just use a 4channel? will it bring out a little more bass? is this normal for kicker speakers?

this is normal for most any brand of speakers. what model kicker components do you have? where are they mounted and how? what head unit are you currently using? Are you using the factory wiring to these Kickers? just a few to start off with.

yes, aftermarket speakers are alot better and beefier than OEM stock. So using the same 10 watts of the headunit doesn't do justice on them.
If you ever replace OEM speakers, amplification is a must. IMHO.
Yes, a good 4 channel will do wonders to yuour existing system.

what model (((KENWOOD))) components do you have? KFC-1682ie
Impedance-4ohm, peak-240w, rated-40w

where are they mounted and how? Just factory location, all 4doors, ididnt touch the 4x10s yet. no baffles or anything behind the speakers, just rings and screws.

what head unit are you currently using? a pioneer DEH-P9501B

Are you using the factory wiring to these kenwoods? For now yes until i get my discount at school for speakers.. and i lied guys :emotions122: i said kicker and meant to say kenwoods.. lol. i always always get them confused between each other..

I got the speakers for free and were brand new, figured what the hell, they have to sound better then my stock ones right? lol.

LOL...i hate it when i do that too...

I have limited online access at work so i may not be able to find specific models for you, but if you can locate a good 100x4 @ 4ohm amp from Zapco, Kicker or several other brands my mind stopped working just now...lol... and run all four doors with it you will definately see an improvement. I personally would run only the front doors and nothing in the rear and then run a 200x2 amp and spend as much as I could for the highest quality amp I could afford and be done...for now...lol.

Then in the future consider some pods for the doors with a dual 6.5" setup and custom kick panels with 6.5" sealed separates and either bi or tri amp your front set up...the only thing that limits your sound system is your imagination....and wallet.

I have two sets of Memphis Componet speakers. If you going for quality, they are up ther. Use to run Alpines, these sound way better and take half the power.

might look into buying online CDT audio are a great company to purchase a set of high end sounding separates that don't hurt the wallet too badly. They sometimes even had a refurbished or b sale for sets with scratched or wrongly colored baskets. I have gone this route before...I mean who is gonna see the back of the driver anyways...lol?!?
