I just got an email from GMC regarding a software update, does anyone know what this update is for?
Is it worth time for a service appointment. I have a 2022 GMC Yukon SLT

It's most likey;

Recall - #N242447990 FAILED BRAKE FLUID LEAK DETECTION

Basically the computer might not turn on the dash warning message about low brake fluid , so a software update fixes it. A little googling around with that recall number will tell you more than you ever wanted to know.

I'm curious though - I had that update done already at the dealer on 9/19, and then I got this same email on 10/4 - maybe just a delay in sending out the email? (Not something new?)

It took my dealer less than an hour to do this today.

Just had the dealer complete the update. My radio/entertainment center was malfunctioning occasionally. Called support and they informed me of the recall. It took about an hour at the dealer.

Does the update appear to have resolved your issues?

What’s the campaign ref #?

N2424355631

Got the same letter just now in the mail. Called the local dealer and they said they have to reprogram the CAN gateway due to it potentially draining the battery during OTA updates.

It resolve my AC and radio issues but....... Now for the first time, the radio doesn't output anything to the speakers. I can hear the clicks when pressing icons on the screen but no volume from any source including phone calls. If I turn the car off and on, it doesn't resolve the issue. I have to restart the radio in Safe Mode and that fixes it even after I restart the car. This has happened twice after one month of having the update performed. At least the rig starts tho -_-

Be careful with this one!
After my reprogram, I lost OnStar and WiFi modules. Took it back in. Dealer confirmed that recall work fried the modules.
Mine was the 4th one this advisor had seen. Best part...OnStar module is on backorder w/ no eta. Thanks GM!

What tipped you off to the fact that these things were fried with the update? (I’ll have to check whether it wiped out anything in my truck today— but nothing seemed overtly different in the drive back home.)

I remember some people saying that they noticed the green light next to the OnStar button wasn't illuminated. I don't have an OnStar plan, but I've noticed that mine always has the green light illuminated when the rig is on.

With the onstar module no green light on next to button, wouldnt connect to onstar. Also lost google assistant & GPS functions (maps, compass, speed limit sign)

Thanks. I went back into my truck last night, and all lights were lit, and my phone picked up the truck's wifi. I think I'm good to go.

I made an appointment yesterday, he said I have 3 updates. 2 are the ones mentioned above and the third is for the supercruise, but he didn't know what it was for more specifically.

Maybe they didn’t hook it up to a battery tender when performing the update?

I am having the exact same issues after the recall/update.

No light next to Onstar.

No Google Assistant

No Wifi.

No speed limit signs in the dash.

Everything is totally messed up. I called Onstar 2x and they said I needed to take it back in to the dealership. Does that sound right?

I have a 2022 Tahoe.
