I have a 2001 Yukon and I can take the key out while the car is on the car or the the UConn does not lock in in park I haven't tried starting it without the key but so far I can take the key out while it's on I can shift the gears without the key completely I mean I can walk out to the vehicle right now without the key and just shift into any gear that I want the key fobs not working so well anymore in fact it doesn't work at all right now I've tried to program it in the first couple times was kinda able to but then it lost the signal or wasn't strong enough or something it it worked very intermittently and then now it doesn't work at all I think that there's something wrong with the column is it won't lock and I can shift at any point in time the brakes are not are the brake light switch is not the issue I should say because I turned the car to the on position and pressed the brakes and the lights lit up more so it's not that it's probably a solenoid that has to do with the locking thing on the system and I just got this truck a little while ago I'm reading that it could be the BCM I checked the fuses already I haven't torn apart the column I looked in there yet that'll be my next step I'm just wondering if anybody's had this problem before and has the solution or the way to diagnose it definitively any help
