I did that for a winter. Hated it , that's why I painted them and threw them back on

I did it last year and didn't miss them. I figured that if I went a year without them and didn't notice, I'd leave them off. I used to smoke years ago and that's mainly why I used them I think. But like the tobacco habit, I'm now off the visor habit too. And the rear wiper habit although in reality I never used that damn thing.
