Pretty sure it won't fit into an 01 console. Again, I think the console is not wide enough. I could be wrong.

Is it only the width of the console? Somehow I thought it was the space underneath the dash that was the issue.

If that’s the case, I wonder is an 03-06 console would bolt into an 00-02?

I’m sure you can make it work, might have to swap the base so it mounts right but I think it will bolt right up. The only thing I can think of is you might have to move it forward or back.

I also think he'll probably need to get the lower dash piece that the 03 console goes up against--MAYBE--The lower passenger side dash piece too, which is a very simple swap.

Yes, precisely. I would need to also replace the lower dash piece, and as a result I would lose a cigarette lighter plug (I currently have three there, and the console/dash pieces I’ve seen in the 03-06 only have two).

Just need to keep my eye on eBay for a good deal on the console and the Stealthbox.

It's a super easy swap, and you could always add another power point if you really needed to. Just a thought. If you have a local PnP, I'm sure it'd be very reasonable. I originally had a jumpseat before swapping the console in.

I would check www.lkqonline.com too- they ship. And www.car-part.com to see if there’s one local you could pick up.

A lot of good information on your build thread, makes me want to start my own as well.

How did you wire in the Bose console woofer/amp?

Thanks for the link!

Btw I just noticed the Onstar control panel in yours is a cubby? Did it come like that or did you do the delete and install that?
They started putting the Onstar in the rearview mirrors starting in--I think 03. Mine's an 03. So it's the cubby there. You can do that too.

Thx. Honestly I don't remember how I wired it, but iirc I did mention it in my build thread. You should absolutely do a build thread. It also reminds you what mods you've done, and how far you've gotten with it. I'm glad I did it.
