I'm just looking for opinions/suggestions on replacing my plastic dash cover on my '07 Silverado Classic. It is currently in one piece, on it's way to being in 3 pieces, and I hate the rattling. My current thought is to go with an Escalade dash, as I like the one on my ESV better than the trucks or the Suburbans.

Is it the same as Tahoe/yukon 07-14? An Esky swap would be cool. If you go back with OE there are tons of these at wrecking yards. I’m contemplating getting one for my 07 Yukon from the yard and reinforcing and covering it with the same color leather on the seats.

I don't think so, and the GMT900s had dashes that cracked after a few years themselves.

Has anyone ever replaced their dash covers?
There is no cover, it is a complete piece. You can put a cap on it but those glue on and and can be a pain to remove if the cluster has to be worked on because it covers the access to the cluster

if you mean the actual dash, not an aftermarket dash cover, then yes I have a lot of experience with the GMT900’s. The new parts are designed differently than the originals, for one thing. So if you replace it, it’s highly unlikely to crack in the future- at least I don’t know of any that have. Second, they’re all interchangeable as long as you change all the parts over as in a swap. I put a new dash for a LTZ Tahoe into my 08 Silverado LT. I did have to swap the cage or whatever its called that the dash mounts to. It’s a lot of work but worth it.

If you do a swap like I did be prepared, it will look like this at its worst.

I mostly want to replace the dash because mine is broken in two places -- and it rattles like a... It rattles alot. And it seems like it rattles intensely at idle (so I have to hear it all the time). But mine is a GMT800. I have considered, however, replacing it with an Escalade dash. It's just the lack of time and money -- like everything else. At least 3 of our fleet need to have their blend doors replaced. So I am going to get proficient at pulling dashes, at some point. Or win the lottery so I can pay someone else to do it...
