So my 2007 suburban was running hot for a few days. I noticed that the temperature was not steady at the 210 mark, but at the 235 mark. The notch to the right of the 210 mark. So I went and bought myself a new thermostat, and replaced the thermostat. The old thermostat has that little nipple that is on the thermostat. The one that I removed that little nipple was not seated and just shaking in its place. Is this a telltale sign that the thermostat was broke?

The one I replaced it with didn't giggle. It was fixed. After replacing and refilling with two gallons of Dexcool, all is well now.

It's supposed to jiggle, but it's only there to help with bleeding air pockets.
Nothing important. (Your air pockets will bleed when you get upto temp)
