Removing interior windshield pillar trim black goo

I pulled my interior windshield pillar trims and mistakenly stacked them on top of each other. There was some black goo shit on the inside which is used to hold wiring. It's now on the outside (viewable) area of one trim piece.

Whatever you do, don't get this stuff on your plastics it's very difficult to get off. I tried q-tips soaked in acetone and that was able to remove the globs. I then dipped a wash rag corner with acetone and that got a little more out. This is the best I can get it to look.

If you ever pull your pillar trim and have this gunk, put some tape on it so you don't spread it around.

Here is the glob on the inside portion. I put tape over it so it won't spread around

I don't think paint would be the way to go, but I could be wrong.

I know there is plastic dye for different plastics. Not sure if there is a color match for light cashmere. Not sure if that would mask the black stuff though either.

They probably have it on eBay. I’ve gotten some vehicle specific interior colors from them. I forgot this pillar has something like a fabric on it.

I'd try 3M Adhesive Cleaner 08984. It's great for getting stuff like this off and almost never damages paint or plastic, IME. Not cheap, but likely find it extremely useful for many tasks. It can be ordered on teh interwebs, but try a local paint supply house (make sure to get the nozzle with it).

Blot it off because any rubbing may dissolve the adhesive holding the fabric in the interior trim.

Might try a little peanut butter on a small area. Let it sit for a bit and blot off. It's also good for getting chewing gum out of hair.
