We recently looked at several 2025 Yukons to potentially replace our recalled truck. I was not impressed with the interior quality compared to our 2021 or 2024, especially the piano black trim around the cupholder areas in the center console. Multiple new trucks on the lot already had scratches and scuffs on this material. Curious how everyone has seen this material holds up in everyday use, and whether anyone has found a way to install clear shield film on any of the interior trim to prevent damage?

As a rule, they are always open on mine as my one before it. and they both look and stay perfect. I use those areas every trip and see no reason to close them. Maybe I'm weird...

I recently traded a 2024 Denali for a 2025 Ultimate. I agree, the piano black around the center console and cupholders is a disappointment. I’ve already got a nick in the phone charger cover door, and I’m not even sure how it happened. The wood tone covers on my 2024 Denali were much nicer IMO. I suspect that matching the wood trim would be difficult, but if a vendor develops replacement covers/doors or a veneer, I’d go for it. A surprising interior downgrade in an otherwise terrific vehicle to this point.

Piano black trim is a cheap substitute that all the manufacturers seem to be using. I wish the trend would die, as everyone seems to agree its not durable and easily scratches. Trying to find a PPF guy who can hand cut pieces to cover it, because it doesn't appear precut patterns exist for the interior panels like they do on some higher end vehicles.
