Reducing Drone

Any good tips on reducing drone on the 6.0? I bought the truck with a custom welded magnaflow muffler. They drone badly anyway. It dumps behind the rear axle, which doesn't help much. Anyway, its so bad that I can barely hear my kids and my wife and I have to basically yell at each other just to hear. When I am towing, with the engine working hard, its even worse.

Any cheap ideas to try before i go and just buy a different exhaust. I am half tempted to just swap in a stock exhaust. Mine sounds awesome, just that drone is horrible.

More than a 5.3 or a 6.2.

You may want to look into a different exhaust or weld the resonator back on.

I would, but I bought the truck this way. So I dont have the factory exhaust.

I think you could get a OEM or even a aftermarket resonator.

yea i looked. Just a few universal ones, which i have never had success with. I cant even find an aftermarket exhaust for my truck anywhere. Might have to let an exhaust shop play with it.

Run the pipes out the the back, it will stop most if not all of the drone.
Majority of drone is exhaust reverberations under the body.
Push the exhaust Out the back or side and it stops.

If you want a resonator, jump in the 2015 engine and exhaust section here. we have a ton of ppl cutting resonators off..
Brand new and cheap.

docster, take it to a muffer shop and add a tee right after the muffler and have then cap the open side. $25 bucks tops
