Has anyone ever had a problem with the recirculation mode working in reverse? Meaning when it's on it draws outside air and when its off it recirculates inside air. Tested it yesterday and could tell it was drawing colder outside air with it on (fan only).

Tested with the AC on but couldn't tell the difference. Usually there is a increase in air speed or volume when you recirculate. They was none.

Sparky's reset procedure was performed a couple times.

If there is no change in air volume I would suspect the recirculate door actuator.

You could get a shop to use a bi-directional scan tool and preform tests on the actuators. It's also possible it could be a bad head unit. Might want to remove it from the dash and let it sit disconnected for 15 minutes or so to clear memory.

If it is truly working in reverse, that means the door is working. I agree that testing the actuator is advised. Unfortunately GM seems to have this issue with other components like seat actuators, mirror actuators. So testing is advisable.

Yeah I have never had a vehicle where the change in air volume wasn't present when switching the recirculate on and off. Only reason I was able to tell a difference is when I just ran the fan and even then no change in air volume just coolness. Yeah my BlueDriver is not gonna cut it I am going to have to look for something else (bi-directional).

I am assuming you mean the climate control system? Thanks

Your not kidding. Iv'e never owned a vehicle where the actuators were so finicky. Again I need to get myself a bi-directional tool. Its a shame I can't get use my VW Vag-Com software.

So it looks like the fresh air actuator isn't working. The the air on the automatic climate control will come on automatically even if it doesn't indicate it on the display. The slight cold air I was feeling was from the AC.

Looks like I can access the fresh air actuator behind the glove box. Looks tight but Im not going to remove the whole dash.

My driver's side temperature actuator and the recirculate actuator are on the fritz. I keep using the Tech2 to command them back into position to kick the can down the road until it cools off. Gotta have a Tech2 to work on these trucks. It's more important/valuable than a screwdriver.

For $2K you can buy five or six of them Ron! You can get them for $300-400 depending on options selected and vendor with shipping. It will pay for itself in short order.
