Hello, looking at getting a yukon hybrid possibly next year and noticed that the shifter is still connected to the steering column like in the old days rather than being in the center console like most suvs today... Does anyone also know what changes are coming to the 2013 vs the 2012 model?

Wow Louis! For somebody who said a whole lot there, you surely said nothing.
Chicago78 the NNBS vehicles will not get a floor/console shifter for MY2013. 1) It makes no sense to change that many parts for only 1 model year. 2) Unlike most SUVs, the Tahoe/Suburban/etc. are used by government agencies that require a computer to be mounted where a floor/console shifter would be.
GM, if you're paying attention, take notes here. This should'nt've been a Hummer H2 only item. This should be, at the very least, a factory option. Not everybody wants a column shifter. Keep the tow/haul button nearby or on the shifter too. A manual select mode should be incorporated much like a Malibu currently has. Just bump the shifter to the right and push forward or back to change gears.
