After looking at the brick stuff, we drove out to see the footer progress. We had an inspection scheduled for 10am and was curious why I hadn't heard anything. When we got there, my builder said the inspector hadn't been there yet. After walking around a bit and flying the drone, we realized it was almost 4. I called the inspector I had spoken with about my foundation engineering, no answer so I texted him.

4:15, no reply so we called it a day and headed home. Plan was to cancel the concrete and work around the inspector. Not great.

4:25 the dude text me and said he wasn't doing the inspections on that end of the county today, but would see what he could find out. Little back and forth, he asked when we had scheduled concrete. I told him 5am Monday morning.

This dude said oh, I'll head that way right now. I was blown away....

Impressed to say the least. I'm super happy with the work my guys did. My builder was super happy with the work. Even said "I've never seen a footer like this on a residential home, nor the quality. Those guys killed it"

So, I had an inspector go out of his way, on a Friday afternoon, an hour after the office was closed. He was impressed enough to tell me all of that.

I think we're starting off on the best possible note.

A few drone shots...

Porch piers aren't dug yet. They need room for the concrete truck to pour the center, while the pump truck is pouring the other areas. Once the center has concrete, they'll quickly dig the porch piers and pour them the same day
With how long this is taking and from those pictures, it looks like the British Museum has sent Howard Carter to take over this "archeological" site.

Its on… like donkey kong
Steph dropped a check off to our builder on her way to work and sent that. 6am, they were already pouring.

It poured rain all afternoon yesterday so I was worried they would push it off. Nope, they were pumping water out of the low end, pouring concrete in the high (dry) end.

Unless something changes on Stephs end, this is brick and mortar combo we're doing for the foundation
