I'm getting excited about living out there

I was not being sarcastic. Our drive is about 1/4 of yours. So I can imagine it being a nice sigh of relief pulling into the house. Now.. raking those leaves is gonna be another fun time

Also…… this blower is pretty powerful, and lasts a long time on a charge….. If you want a quiet job….
I have one….. it works good !

I have the makita version. 36v. Have the string trimmer too. Been very happy with them over the past 4-5 years.

I'll prob have to get a bagger attachment for the mower. Not looking forward to it and may end up paying to have the lawn care done. I haven't decided on that yet.

After the bank meeting and seeing numbers, I'll probably be doing it myself lol

Going to file for a building permit tomorrow. It's required for POA prior to approval. Ass backwards, but whatever

Meeting with the grading guy that will do the footers and septic install tomorrow. Going to get elevations from new footprint. We'll submit that info to get plans adjusted. Small step, but feels huge

Your builder ever come back with the bid? I wasn't sure if you mentioned it.

We are finalizing the bid, replacing the concrete roof tiles soon….
The bid price, $31,000 , is about $6,000 less than a one story ( more simple roof across the street ), because we are paying for it, not insurance )

Nope. Says he wants to wait until we have the numbers on the foundation. Bank DGAF, just told them the estimated per square foot price....We'll see if that changes at our next meeting.

Being in commercial, this residential stuff is by far, the most ass backwards setup I've ever dealt with

Meet my guy out there this afternoon. Of course, it starting raining just before we got there. Finally let up after 30 minutes.

Got some elevation shots for the footer. He's going to build a model and overlay the survey drone data.

Applied for the building permit today. Should have elevations back soon. He said he was going to try to get them on the computer and to me this weekend. They supposedly hauled some gravel today also. Not sure how much. Bank emailed and said they were starting the review and will be in touch.

Building permit got approved. Just have to find time to go get it.

They're almost done with the gravel. Pad is ~130' long, left to right. Still need to cap with crusher run, extend the driveway to the approximate house corner, then cap the rest of the drive with a fresh coat of crusher. It's gotten pretty beat up with all the trucks.

Future shop pad. Originally, I was going to build the shop first/alongside the home build. Then I got the extremely expensive quote from my builder (custom home builders build at a certain level, regardless of structure type apparently). Shifted gears. Going to build the house first. Once we get a handle on that "actual" cost, then I'll decide on the shop.

In the meantime, it can be parking for the workers and lay down yard for materials. This will allow time for any settling and further compaction, since that whole area is fill.

Smooth drum rolled the pad and driveway today. Cleaned up the edges and what not.

All his dump trucks were hauling on a big job I told him to keep them on it and get that money.

3-4 more loads of rock and I'm calling it good enough. It's going to get destroyed during construction, but I wanted it to look good when we start.

Picked up our building permit today. Submitting everything to our POA on Monday for approval. They meet 4/9. Bank emailed and said loan is in underwriting so we should hear something soon.

I’m searching for the correct name for a special weed killer that is designed to percolate below the surface to kill the weed seeds that will eventually sprout. Those weeds & their seeds that have been in the ground for the last 50 years. Some wonder why weeds keep coming up.
Imagine how many weeds were on that area before anyone came to build a home?

None really. It was covered in trees. I'm sure they will pop up now though. I'm curious what you find, because I'm sure we'll need it
