Bad day anniversary coming up. I was married twice and both named Debbie. Debbie #2 had a brain aneurysm and I had to pull life support March 31 2011. Will be 15 years ago this coming 31st. The whole family had flown in and were all there. I refused to put it off for April 1st/Fools Day. Still have her ashes.

Totally sad to read this. My wife of 50 years passed this past October. Aggressive cancer, and she died in the ER, waiting to be seen. I totally understand, my Friend.

In mid-April, I'm going to spread some of her ashes on some Cape Cod beaches that she loved. In May, I'll spread some more of her ashes on a mountain top in the Adirondacks, near where we camped at for 36 straight years. Last, I'm going to spread the remainder of her ashes on my property and her herb garden, since she repeatedly said that this was the only and last place on earth that she would ever live.

Going to be tough days for sure, but I'm hoping to reach some level of closure on my life with her.

Although I'm heartbroken for you, I think what you're doing will give you some peace. My final wishes and instructions are to be cremated and my ashes spread in areas that I have loved, hiked, and enjoyed, and not sitting on someone's fireplace mantel. Of course we all have our ways of dealing with loss.

Yea, I have some of her ashes but the rest are scattered at "The Devil's Churn" north of Florence, Or., on the coast.

Resurrecting this for a couple more questions:
Any issue siphoning out the pump reservoir before removing the lines to minimize the mess?
Anyone have good experience with Edelmann lines?

I used a simple fluid extractor when I did mine on my 2007. I used the GM Genuine hoses for about 5x the price of the Edelmanns, but the rack I used was an Edelmann and it's still working great 4 years later, so I'm sure the Edelmann hose will be fine, too.

I also just kept the front end raised after I replaced the steering rack and all lines, and turned the wheel a bunch of times lock-to-lock to bleed the air out. Worked great for me.

I had no idea, Joseph. I'm sorry to read this and can't begin to imagine what losing the love of my life would feel like. I hope you can find peace and comfort in the memories of your years together, and in the support of friends and family. May the pain ease as the weeks turn into months, and years, and may your souls be reunited in heaven someday. But not too soon, please - we rather like having you around here.
