Oil Pressure Issues

My 2008 tahoe has been giving me some oil pressure issues where the gauge would dip to 0 psi and give the stop engine message but the engine is quiet as can be. Figured i’d replace the oil pressure sensor filter. Couldn’t find one locally so I opted for a replacement sensor and screen from amazon.

Last night I went ahead and swapped the filter screen and sensor. Me and why took the tahoe for an hours drive. Oil pressure sits around 40 or above when driving and hot idle 35.

Lately i’ve been a budget and i’ve been having good luck with amazon parts. Ordered a ac hose last month and it’s been good as well still blowing cold and no leaks

Hopefully this sensor filter last and doesn’t clog fast

I'm glad that your issue is resolved.

Your oil pressures are fine with your new pressure sensor.

Regarding truck part purchases on Amazon, it is a crap shoot at best. Sometimes, you get a quality part, but other times, you get garbage.

IMO, RockAuto.com and GMPartsDirect.com are more reliable suppliers of quality parts at reasonable prices.

Advanced Auto is a good source for oil pressure sensors..the cheapo Car Quest one's come with a lifetime warranty and they also have genuine GM with 2yr warranty.

The easy repairs I will admit ill go cheap but anything crucial i'll use name brand. I am running updated ds valve cover, valve cover gaskets from Amazon they seem to be holding up. I usually tell myself the amazon parts are just trials until I can cough up the money but they usually work out alright used them on LSs and Ford 4.6s

Im pretty sure the sensor I removed which was from Autozone is still some good. Once the filter was removed I did find some debris in the screen but went ahead and installed the new one.

In my opinion, sensors that are dire to engine and computer sync. I would go with OEM sensors. I have ran rockauto and partsgeek and autozone cam sensors. OEM fixed the issue. Just me though.
