I'm doing the exact same to my Yukon. Just waiting on the shocks to arrive.

Where did you get the front coilovers from? I've thought about doing the same thing to help my 12 yr old torsion bars, but haven't been able to find any info anywhere, other than doing a full coilover conversion, removing the t-bars altogether.

That is what I did. Took the picture before removing the t bars.
Used atomics lower mount with upper washers

I wonder if using the coilovers in conjunction with the t-bars would work?

I need new shocks as it is, I'm thinking about adding coilovers to take a small portion of the load off the t-bars... and then I could dial in the ride height/stiffness more precisely.

If you don't want to eliminate torsion bars I would just suggest replacing your shocks with high quality adjustable shocks and adjust them to your liking

Pro comp 2.5" keys up front, 1" rear. 285/70/17. Zero rubbing but there was some trimming.

There's a guy on this board who sells the coilover kit. He also sells reinforcing pieces for the upper shock mounts since they are now carrying all the weight that was previously carried by the T-bars.

He posts under the name Atomic and he has a big thread in the "Street Suspension" section of this board: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/any-interest-in-4wd-front-coilovers-to-replace-tbars.57560/

It's pretty slick. I've been going back and forth on lifts and there's part of me that just wants to ditch the T-bars entirely and go with coilovers.

Then again there's another part of me that's cheap, and that's a BIG part of me. :D I also have to consider that my '04 'Burb is a bit rusty and that honestly I probably will only have it for maybe 3 years so I don't need to be sinking a ton of money into it.

But I like the idea of coilovers to replace the T-bars. If I had a really cherry Tahoe or 'Burb with low miles that I was planning on turning into an off-road beast or keeping for 10 years, I would probably invest in coilovers.

The kit your are speaking of from atomic is what mine is. I elected to try using just the stock frame mount as i had read another member try it with atomics upper bushings and it has been holding up last i checked.
