Put a set of Taylor Thundervolt 8.2 wires on my 8.1L tonight and just thought I'd share the resistance measurements for those who've ever wondered. Both wires are 9" in length. The factory wires ranged from 1167-1193 ohms. The Taylor wires were 35.8 - 37.1 ohms.

Never heard of that brand but, how old are your GM wires? That may have a lot to do with it.

120k miles. i'm finding that most people not into high performance or racing have never heard of them. i'm also finding a lot of people who feel the factory wires, or GM replacements, are 'the best' for my application...LOL. i'm also being told that these wires are a waste of money even though they cost less than most aftermarket wires and i'm guessing less than a new set from the dealership. all that expert advice and opinion was provided to me over at gm-trucks.com. it seems over there that my low post count means that i don't have a clue. had one fellow share a link to how sparkplug wires work:rolleyes:. so far i'm finding a much warmer environment here :)

I've always had good experiences with Taylor wires. I'm running them on my Vette, and I'm putting a set of red wires on my Suburban because the stock wires have 120K on them and I want to add some color to the engine compartment.
