I’m all about making my ride personal to me, I can’t think of a anything thing I would change on this truck. Like seriously. I think only one thing I would do is add leds switchbacks up front and leds in the tails. Wouldn’t even change the one off custom painted tails.
Although bagged would be pretty sick :hmm:. Not necessarily laying frame but at least tucking wheels.

Edit : Escalade appliqués :hmm:

Yes, appliqués are on the list.

Also thinking some stock 16s, z71 roof rack, and a complete repaint in safety yellow.

Okay... I believe I've laid enough Easter eggs around the forum to satisfy my fun bug, and I know there's a good handful of you that have figured it out. Time to officially break the news, I suppose...

I have been lucky enough to get to know Pete @Sevenevez through some other ventures, and he never fails to impress. When I found out he was selling the Denali, I knew I wouldn't ever forgive myself if I didn't at least try. I'm calling it my mid life crisis. Lol.

First and foremost, I want to thank Pete for keeping it in the TYF family, and allowing me to be the one to carry the torch with a project that has captivated us all. It took a bit of trust on both ends to make it happen the way it did, and we both white-knuckled it a couple times along the way. He could have easily taken a pile of cash from somebody that answered his CL ad and called it a day, but he didn't.

It's not my intent to get all sappy, but we've all been in the position of selling a vehicle we've loved or buying a vehicle we've coveted. There's something special about both sides, and it's safe to say that Pete and I have made the best of them both. We even put the HU's BT to the test in a long phone call while I was out cruising the other night! Memories made and a new friendship growing. :drunk:

So without further ado...

Here she is being delivered. Pretty big deal on my little podunk street. One of my neighbors (who has a pretty slick rover) was on a walk with his wife and said "looks like somebody got a new toy!" Got a thumbs up and tip of the cap from him when I rolled it past the next day.... :happy107:

She was, in Pete's words "the dirtiest she's ever been." I don't doubt it. 2000 miles and a week on the road makes for a mess, lemme tell you...

View attachment 225188

I kicked the Ferd outta the garage, but I couldn't even put her away like that, so I spent the evening washing her and subsequently bandaging my knuckles from the lug spikes....errr, nuts.

I have since built a little wish list and some "to do" items to keep the ball rolling on this awesome build (with Pete's approval, of course). :happy160:

Obviously, I will keep y'all apprised to any changes /progress. This is not a "normal" vehicle where I live, and will easily be a head turner at some local cruise nights, etc. Hopefully, I can take it to the next level. It may take some time, but I have no intention of doing anything other than "babying" and "building" this truck for the foreseeable future.

I will never be Pete with a camera (or have those Yuma sunsets ;)), but I'll give it some effort. Here she is tonight, enjoying a beautiful evening rolling around town....

I hope this truck can continue to be a symbol of what this forum is. Solid personnel with helpful input for everyone that has a desire to learn, fix, drive, and most of all, enjoy these awesome trucks! May the journey continue...:chewie::chewie::chewie::chewie::chewie::chewie::chewie:

Congrats, awesome ride

So I've been happily cruising this lovely lady on sunny weekends as often as possible. Finally took a tool to her for the first time today (I believe in a proper courtship).

Had a couple spare LEDs and am tired of seeing the sorry yellow when I'm walking up to her in a parking lot in the evening, so I did the puddles. Same ones I used in the Hoe.

You need to put them in at a little angle to fit the panel in the housing. Works well, though, as they end up perfectly parallel to the ground.

Have a few more bulbs laying around to stick in a few spots. Will put together a list to order and complete the conversion. Will post full list when complete. Plan on reverse, DRL, makers, map/dome lights, door courtesy.

Found a couple leftover map lights, too. Again, same ones from the Hoe. Have been very happy with them.

You need to take a little rattail file to the reflector cone to get them to sit all the way in. You want the white plastic collar through the cone and the silver housing to mate up.

Finally , all this thing needed was led lights all around :happy107: . Pete wasn’t about that led life lol

Since those are single facing leds I just take the reflector completely out. Don’t have to fumble with it putting it back it and it gives a cool blackout look to the light when off.

I prefer them in there. Did the same thing to the Hoe. I know the bulbs are directional, but I tried them with and without the reflector in the Hoe, and they are definitely brighter with it. Maybe because of the lens.

It’s a optical illusion :secret: lol jk . I just like the black out look and it’s still plenty bright. I have the rest of my interior lights blacked out too, still super bright.
