I have a 99 OBS yukon. I've been hearing what sounds like a vent door opening and shutting from the passenger floor board area. Would this be the actuator? Also I've noticed that I can have my heat on full Blast and the speed will vary on its own. I don't know if these 2 issues are connected. Please help! Thanks!

There are three dampers...

Blend door in the center with the actuator near the gas pedal. Controls air distribution from defrost to panel to floor.

Temperature door actuator is kind of behind the ashtray.

Recirculation door above the blower wheel...roughly behind the far right passenger air vent. That may be the one that you're hearing and causing the air flow variation as it goes from fresh air to recirc. There should be a dial on the actuator that rotates as the damper cycles. You may have to pull the glovebox and rubber covering from the blower to see it (I don't remember), but press the recirc button on the panel and see if it cycles smoothly.

So did you fix it? Mine does the exact same thing, I've got it being held closed with a stick right now
