My 2007 suburban threw code P0451 and everything I’ve read is saying the ftp sensor is bad. I have a long road trip coming up. If I do not change the sensor could I potentially be left stranded? If I do have it changed should I do the fuel pump as well? I just rolled over 80k miles for reference

Try a new fuel cap first. And no, it won’t strand you if the sensor is bad.

You’ll need a proper scan tool like the Tech2 to be able to read the sensor values in real time in order to accurately diagnose what’s going on. I wouldn’t replace the sensor without properly diagnosing it first - either yourself of having a shop do it.
