Output shaft seal question

Hey guys real quick, got a new transfer case and it came with a short output shaft seal as opposed to the long seal. It’s there any issue using this short seal or should I change it for the standard long seal? See pics

I'd run it where I live and how my truck is used. The boot protects the yoke if the dirt is a concern swap it over.
